Youth Theatre
New & prospective members are welcome, in order to audition you need to
be a member but you can join at the audition.Owing to the demand for places within our Youth Theatre, we will be holding an audition for entry into the group on:
Saturday 2nd September at 10:30am
We ask our members to be extremely committed to both our productions and the weekly workshops. Last season we had members who only attended sporadically and they occupied places that more committed people could have used. Please make sure that your are aware of level of commitment required to be in the Youth Theatre and that should you be chosen for entry this year you remain consistent in your attendance. We are instituting a policy that if you are chosen and fail to attend 80% of the sessions then your place will be given to someone on the waiting list. Please note membership fee is not for the Youth theatre it is for the theatre as a whole and so we cannot in these circumstances refund membership fee (membership is £20 per year).
Attendance will be particularly important because even if you are not in the main house production (this year it is After Juliet by Sharman Mcdonald) we will be taking more than one entry for the NANDA competition ( A local Youth Festival) and will need actors.
For the audition you will need to learn a one-minute speech to perform to us on the day. This can be a favourite poem, a monologue from a play you know well. If anyone has problems finding an audition piece, please contact me.
Everyone who auditions on the day will be informed of our decision by post through the week. Our first meeting as a group will be on:
Saturday 9th September at 10:30am.
If we exceed our limit at the auditions, we will put the remaining people on a waiting list and they will be contacted if and when a place arises.
Please feel free to contact me to talk about the auditions or any issues that are of concern.
I look forward to seeing you at the audition in September!
