German Exchange Visit

For 24 years the Lace Market has been involved in an exchange with 2 theatres in Karlsruhe, Nottingham's twin city, the Die Kaeuze Theatre and the Jacobus Theatre.  In 2004 we took 2 plays to Karlsruhe  ["View from the Bridge" and "Anorak of Fire"]

This year we are hosting the 2 theatres here in Nottingham at the Lace Market Theatre where they will present 2 plays in German .  The Die Kaeuze production is of particular interest to young people and will be performed by a young cast.

We hope this will be of particular interest to students as not only can students see German drama, but there will be opportunities to chat to the groups presenting the plays afterwards.

In the past we have been impressed by the innovative staging they have produced and this may be of interest to drama departments.

Some students may feel it worth their while in the run up to public exams to put in some language practice in an enjoyable and painless way.
